Marketing and Communications Coordinator – 8 Week Contract to Start | Vancouver

My client is a global, $B+, conference and exhibition provider with over 200 trade and consumer shows in their repertoire. As they face two of their biggest shows in Western Canada in spring 2018 they need somebody with the experience and confidence to jump directly into the fire and hit the ground running. The goal of this contract is to assist in the deliverables of key marketing initiatives.

What you will be doing:

  • Work with Senior Marketing Manager on creative ideas, themes, directions and business objectives
  • Work closely with Senior Marketing Manager to ensure we are amplifying, fulfilling and tracking all sponsorship marketing deliverables
  • Work closely with Senior Marketing Manager on public relations initiatives
  • Develop sponsorship post-show reports in tandem with conference, sales and marketing team
  • Help coordinate the design, development & maintenance of websites including content, site, architecture, UX and design parameters
  • Assist with management of various CRMs and proprietary data
  • Assist with the digital marketing efforts of various event brands and verticals which includes social media promotion, retargeting, SEO and SEM
  • Assist in the growth of the marketing deliverables and external reach of the event brands
  • Assist in maintaining and growing relationships with industry stakeholders and associations in the construction, real estate, and cargo/shipping industries
  • Assist the Senior Marketing Manager with key initiatives and deliverables for exhibitor marketing, and the sales team
  • Assist the Senior Marketing Manager with major ad buys and its key deliverables
  • Assist the marketing team with its graphic design deliverables as needed.
  • Assist with website updates as needed

What you need to have:

  • A proven track record of marketing and communications, with a keen eye for digital and design
  • A team player who can help the marketing team deliver faster and efficient marketing campaigns to help reach individual event goals
  • At least 3 years in marketing and communications
  • Degree or diploma in Communications or Marketing preferred
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite platform which includes Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator
  • Knowledge of various online and social media management tools including Hootsuite, Google Analytics
  • Knowledge of various web platforms including Adobe Experience Manager, Wordpress, and HTML
  • Knowledge of CRMs, including Adobe Eloqua
  • Positive attitude, and contributing to the team’s needs wherever necessary to get the job done
  • Works well under pressure, ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong administrative skills, ability to self-organize and experience with problem solving
  • Ability to work flexible hours during and leading up to the events and travel as necessary
  • Must have excellent English verbal and written communication skills
